Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the 3rd annual SAP NS2 Solutions Summit in Falls Church, VA. There were approximately 700 attendees clamoring to hear updates and discussions on issues such as national security, cyber security, policy, and current and future issues facing the United States that a strong public/private partnership may help alleviate. 
Luminaries in the fields of national security, cyber security, policy, and defense such as Frances Townsend, John Negroponte, Michael Morrell, Jack Devine, Stephen Cambone, Alan Wade, and Michael Hewitt all participated in riveting discussions and round tables on these important topics. The day was capped by a truly honest and sobering key-note address by Dr. Robert Gates, the former Secretary of Defense under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
As a practitioner of Organizational Change Management, I enjoyed each session of this Solutions Summit, but one session really brought to my attention how important change management is to large organizations and how overlooked it is in the government. During a round table discussion of “Secure Cloud and Information Assurance”, Carmen Krueger, Senior VP at SAP, stated ” The government has a huge change management problem on their hands…” referring to the rapid adoption of cloud hosting and infrastructure services that is currently taking place in the federal space.
Of course my ears perked up when I heard this. Finally, the recognition that Change Management deserves spoken publicly in a crowd of industry experts and veterans! Really, I wonder if I was the only one in the large room that latched on to Carmen’s observation? This only solidifies our resolve at novaturient to keep evangelizing the importance of a structured and flexible approach to Organizational Change Management and delivering solutions that assist our clients in responding to large scale change in their organizations whether they be government agencies, large corporations, or small start-ups. Responding effectively to change affects all aspects of an organization from user adoptions to network security. It is critically important to have a strategy in place and novaturient’s experts can help your organization develop that strategy.
